Nafplio

Nafplio - a town in the east of Peloponnese, the capital of the region of Argolis. It was the first capital of Greece between 1828 and 1833. Nafplio is one of the most beautiful cities in Greece with Venetian architecture, a beautiful beach and the majestic Palamidi (a fortress built by the Venetians in 1678). From the fortress you can enjoy a magnificent view of the city and the sea. Along the coast, you can sit in a cosy café gazing at the fort Bourtzi or simply visit it by getting there with a small boat, which departs from the pier promenade. Enjoy walks in the castle and the city, nice cafés and shops or a beautiful sandy beach which fascinates every visitor and it is almost impossible to not fall in love with this city. We recommend you to go to Nafplio in the morning, to see the famous Palamidi, to familiarize yourself with the historical part of the city, to have a look at the souvenir shops, to visit fort Bourtzi, swim in the sea, have lunch in one of the taverns on the beach and finally sit in a café under palm trees and enjoy the taste of Greek coffee.
